FAQs on Privacy, Member Area, Penpal
and Alumni Issues
1. What information
is collected through this website?
All the data that we collect through our website allows us to better
tailor our website services to your needs or to provide you with
the most relevant information on the courses on offer.
- Information gathered through request forms
(Brochure order form, Download form, Available Places form?, Price
calculator, Registration form, Feedback and Call back form)The
information you provide through the forms mentioned above, will
of course be processed by ourselves. As a result of your request,
you should receive a copy of our brochure and a reservation for
the course for which you have registered. We will of course never
pass on your personal information to a third party. (With the
exception or those participants who book our transfer service
as we will obviously have to provide our partner with the details
of when and where you will arrive!)

Additionally, we do store and process certain technical data.
We use "Cookies" in our Member area. "Cookies" allow us to recognise
you (e.g. for automatic login) or clear you in the member area.
Of course you can deactivate these "Cookies" in your internet
browser at any time, however this will mean that you are unable
to benefit from the advantages of our member area (e.g. Pen pals,
Alumni area and our online German course).We also use Web Metrics
Tools which provide us with information regarding the visits of
our Users to our website. We do this in order to have a greater
understanding of our users and to allow us to ensure relevant
content which is more interesting for you, our users. We also
track for example, which URL you arrived at our website from,
on which page you leave our website, your IP address and which
browser you use. We do not link this information with your personal
details e.g. your name or e-mail address). We only use this information
anonymously.
2.Are you Data secure?
Do you pass on any information to third party's?
If you register with us through our website, your personal information
(e.g. Credit card details) is protected by secure SSL encoding. We
only use the data provided in the required circumstances. We will
not pass your personal details on to a third party with the exception
of our colleagues and partners (Transfer and Accommodation). These
partners are required to treat any data received as confidential.
3. Is it possible
to delete my details?
In our Member-Area it is
possible to amend your personal preferences such as receiving our
newsletter, your user name and password or of course to remove yourself
from our Member Database completely. In this case we will retain no
copies of your information .
If you wish to delete the personal data that has been transmitted
to us via our request forms,

4. How can I (un)subscribe
for/from your newsletter?
To subscribe to the ActiLingua newsletter please click here.
To be removed from our list click here!
If you want to change your e-mail address, please unsubscribe first
and then subscribe using your new e-mail address.
5. I get your newsletter
even though I have unsubscribed. Why?
Of course, we respect your wish to be removed from our mailing list.
It might be that you have subscribed to our newsletter with another
email address.
6. What will my
e-mail address be used for? Do you pass on any information to third
party's?
We know that the security of your e-mail address is very important
to you and we understand your concerns. Therefore, in no circumstances
do we pass on your e-mail address (not even through our Pen
Pal service). It is possible to change your personal details through
our Member- Area at any time.
7. What is your
Member Area? Why should I register?

8. I have forgotten
my username or my password. What can I do?
If you have forgotten your login data, we will send you the information
automatically. Just follow this link
and enter your email address!
9. I am already a
Member. How can I become a penpal?
It's easy: Login into our member area! In our "Member Area"
Box in the right column you can find a link to penpals.
Fill in the form and update your penpal profile.
Remember, the more detailed your profile the more interesting the
responses. You can also upload a picture of yourself!
10. I do not want
to be listed as a penpal anymore.
It's easy: Login and visit our penpal area. "My profile"
and choose "delete my profile". By this you are unlisted
immediately!
However, your membership will remain valid. You can still make full
use of our free services like free lessons, free German tests. If
you want to become a penpal once more, you can activate your penpal
profile any time you want.
11. I am not listed
as a penpal. Can I send mails to listed penpals?
No, that is not possible.
12. I have just send
an e-mail to a penpal/an alumni. Will I receive their messages directly
in my personal e-mail address?
Yes. Their answer will be sent directly to your e-mail address. However,
your penpal/alumni does not know your e-mail address. It will be forwarded
by our penpal service. It is up to you, if and when you let your penpal
know your email address!
13. I have received
an e-mail. How do I answer it correctly?
Do not use the reply function of your E-mail program! Your penpal
will NOT get this E-mail.
DO IT THIS WAY: The E-mail provides a link to your penpals profile…
click it and use the 'send message' function!
This sounds complicated, but is important to ensure that your email
address remains protected. It is up to you, if you let your penpal
know your email address!
14. I am already
a Member. How can I become Alumni?
Our Alumni Network is accessible to former course participants
only! Please fill in this
form. We will check your data against our database and send
you your login information via e-mail.
