1. What does an ActiLingua German course cost and what do I get for my money?

ActiLingua is in a position to offer competitive prices: Compare us!

An example: The price of a four week standard course with accommodation with a host family, in a student apartment or in a hall of residence (double room) is: price list

20 lessons German course per week (1 lesson = 45 minutes)
5 lessons (2-3 times) cultural programme per week: e.g. Vienna guided tours; talks and videos about Austrian music, art, history, literature and architecture; Viennese Waltz course; parties; sports.
Accommodation as booked; use of kitchen included
ActiLingua Certificate
Course books may be borrowed for the whole course. Books can be bought at a 50% discount from the school office
Use of computers, books, videos and magazines in the multimedia library
Student service at the school office, Monday-Friday
Free internet access & WLAN/WI-FI

2. How much is that in my currency?

Our prices are quoted in Euros. To convert this into your currency use our Currency Converter.

3. Can I also pay the course fees in my currency?

The course can be paid for in Euros (EUR) only.

4. How can I pay? What are your account details?

The best way of paying for your German course is by bank giro transfer direct to our bank account or by credit card. We accept the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard.

Banking charges must be borne by the student. Please make out your money order as "banking charges borne by transferor".

5. How can I pay by credit card?

If you decide to pay for your German course by credit card, please use our Secured Online Form or send us a fax or e-mail authorizing us to debit your card by a certain amount, and the following details:
- invoice number or student's first name and surname
- amount
- type of credit card
- credit card number
- expiry date - name of card holder
- signature (when sending a fax).
If you register via our secure online registration form you can arrange for payment online.

6. When do I have to pay?

The deposit is EUR 198 and should be paid at the time of registration. The remaining course fees are due within 14 days of receipt of our confirmation, or 30 days before the start of the course at the latest. Upon receipt of your payment we shall mail you the address of your accommodation. Payment must be made in Euro (EUR).

7. Does ActiLingua award scholarships or financial support?

Two types of financial support are available at ActiLingua:

Scholarship
ActiLingua awards 40 scholarships to school or university students, entitling them to a 100 percent reduction in the cost of a two-week standard course, not including accommodation.
Study cheque
The ActiLingua study cheque gives a 10% price reduction on a one to four week course without accommodation to 40 students each year.

If you wish to apply for one of our scholarships or study cheques, you are requested to submit an application and registration form, enclosing a reference from your German teacher, and stating the precise name and address of your school/university and of the teacher concerned. We regret that no scholarships can be awarded for the months of July and August.

8. Can I pay the course fees by instalments?

If you book a long-term course and prefer not to pay all of the course fees at once, we recommend you book a course duration you can easily pay in advance and then extend your stay at our student office in Vienna. The price for a prolongment (extra week) is very attractive: see prices.
We regret that we cannot accept payment by instalments.

9. Do you charge a registration fee?

ActiLingua charges no registration fee. For your registration, all we require is a deposit of EUR 198, which will be deducted from the total amount.

10. Do I get a discount if I register together with my sister/my brother?

If you register for a German course with ActiLingua together with one or more siblings and put the words "Sibling Discount" into the Special Requests field on our registration form along with the name(s) of your sibling(s), you will receive a discount of EUR 25 per person!

11. Is there a group discount?

Yes. We offer discounts for groups of 5, 8, 10 or more people. Please contact us to enquire directly and specify the starting date and group size. We are happy to communicate our specific offer.

12. What is Travel with Friends? Is there a discount for small groups?

If you plan to come to ActiLingua with at least 2 more friends, you and all of your friends receive a discount of EUR 40.-

13. Is there an Alumni discount, a Come-back-Discount?

Yes. We are very happy to hear that you are planning to return to ActiLingua Academy for your German course. Your decision is the best feedback, that we can hope for. It shows that you felt at home at our school and profited from our German programme. To thank you for your repeated trust we want to grant a price reduction of EUR30 on any German course and accommodation.
