German Courses - Success and Certificates
1. What linguistic success can I expect from the course?
Our motivated staff and small international study groups provide an ideal atmosphere for successful language learning. However, your progress depends very much on your own motivation and abilities.ActiLingua offers seven different course levels from beginner to advanced. Each course level usually consists of 20 lessons/week (=Standard course) over a period of 4 weeks with the exception of Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2 and Advanced which usually take 8 weeks to complete if you are good at languages and ready to work hard.
If you book an Intensive or a Superintensive course you will speed up the process considerably!
An example: you have no prior knowledge of German. If you are good at languages and work hard, it is possible to complete Beginner and Elementary 1 in 12 weeks. After four more weeks, you may complete Elementary 2.
From this level onwards you can take the internationally recognized exam 'Zertifikat Deutsch'.
2. Do I get a certificate?
If you have attended your course regularly (at least 80%), you receive a certificate of participation giving details of the type of course, duration, course level, number of lessons attended and topics covered.
3. Can an ActiLingua course prepare me for official examinations for internationally recognized certificates? Which certificates do you offer?
ActiLingua is an examination centre for the Austrian German Language Diploma OSD, which is advocated by the Austrians state, boasts 120 examination centres and enjoys world-wide recognition for its German as a foreign language examinations. 4. How high is the success rate for the examinations of the Austrian German Langauge Diploma (OSD)?
ActiLingua offers special examination courses that ideally prepare you for the examinations of the Austrian German Language Diploma (OSD). The success rate of our students is almost 100%. Detailed information on our examination courses!
5. How do I know my level of German and for which certificate I qualify? Can you return the assessment test, so that I can find out prior to my arrival in Vienna?
Our teachers and staff will counsel you and help you find a suitable exam.
It is not possible to answer this question prior to arrival in Vienna, as
the student's definite level of German can only be checked upon arrival
on a short oral assessment.
Certificate preparation courses are booked and payed after oral assessment
directly in Vienna.

preparation course, we organise a free lecture and present available exams,
their levels and their advantages and help you choose the best suitable
exam for your needs and ambitions.
