Video evenings and screenings

ActiLingua possesses a wide and varied video library featuring nearly all major German films. At our video evenings, the teacher first of all introduces the film and highlights complicated vocabulary and special topics. During the film, there are also frequent breaks in order to clarify any questions or misunderstandings. This means that not only students with a good level of German can participate, but all others too. One of the most popular choices is the Mozart film "Amadeus" directed by Milos Formann. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is presented in a very personal and moving way, offering deep insight into his musical oeuvre.

Do you know the film "The Third Man", scripted by Graham Greene? No? Then this is an absolute must. The film is set in the ruins of post-war Vienna — at a time when Austria was under control of the American, English, French and Russian occupying forces (1945-1955). It is an exciting thriller and historical documentary all rolled into one.
