The Prater offers fun, excitement and relaxation. We would like to make you aware of three things you should not miss!

Riesenrad

The Viennese have been going to the Prater since 1766, and up until today, its showplaces draw in the crowds. With an array of things to do, we want to make sure you don’t miss out on the main attractions: so here is our to-do list for Vienna’s Prater!

     1.  Best fair showplaces

Vienna’s Prater is widely known for its amusement park. You will find haunted houses, carousels, roller coasters and shooting galleries. Every year, new places are added! Some of its main items like Vienna’s Ferris wheel are very old.

Today, the Ferris wheel is the Prater’s main feature and one of the city’s landmark. On the 10-15 minute ride, you will have enough time to enjoy the view of the entire city.

     2.  Best Restaurant

Our second must-see – Das Schweizerhaus. The restaurant is renowned for its large outdoor dining area and its menu.

Its famous stilts are a Schweizerhaus speciality, which is served with bread, horseradish, as well as mustard and to be enjoyed with a cold beer.
Praterallee

     3.  Best leisure area

While most people think of the amusement park, when talking about the Prater, there is a lot more to it. Mainly an extensive leisure park, with green areas, lawns and open spaces.

The park areas offer enough space to relax. The main avenue extends over 4 km, which provides space to run, jog, cycle and much more – the perfect place to spend your spare time.
