For the 6th time in a row, Vienna has been named the most liveable City on earth! Zurich (Switzerland) comes in second; Munich (Germany) takes third place.
Each year the global consultancy Mercer does a survey to evaluate the quality of living. This year 230 cities around the world have been evaluated across 39 metrics and 10 categories including “schools and education”, “consumer goods”, “housing” and “public transportation”. This means our subjective feeling of well-being attested by locals and tourists alike has been approved once more by this international study. Here are some things the ActiLingua team loves about Vienna:
- Vienna – city of culture: numerous activities in the area of theatre, music, art exhibitions, public readings, museums and operas that cater to all tastes!
- Imperial Vienna: Imperial buildings like Hofburg, Schönbrunn Palace, Belvedere Palace, the splendid buildings of the Ring Boulevard, but also medieval narrow streets and the baroque squares shape the city’s image.
- The Viennese public transport network: It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
- Moderate and mild climate: Average summer temperatures range between 20°C and 30°C, average winter temperatures around 0°C.
