German Summer School (12-17)
The ActiLingua Summer School offers young people aged 12–17 the chance to learn German and experience Vienna in a way that’s both personal and meaningful.
Our aim is to create an environment where students feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow – both linguistically and personally.
Learning in an International Community
Lessons take place in small, mixed-age international groups.
The focus is on communication and understanding – not on rote learning.
Through conversations, games and shared projects, students discover how natural language learning can be when it happens in a positive atmosphere.
Life on Campus
The ActiLingua Summer School takes place at the Theresianum Austria’s most respected private school, founded by Empress Maria Theresia. The campus offers bright classrooms, comfortable accommodation, a spacious park and a variety of sports facilities. Everything – learning, living, eating, playing – happens in one place, under careful supervision.
After Class: Vienna and Beyond
Afternoons are filled with sports, workshops and small excursions. We show our students the best sides of Vienna – its culture, green spaces and relaxed rhythm.
Evenings often bring time together in the park, shared meals, or group activities that help students connect and unwind.
A Safe and Welcoming Environment
Our team lives on campus with the students.
We know each participant by name, and we make sure everyone feels part of the group. Parents can be confident that their children are not only improving their German but also learning to navigate a new environment with curiosity and respect.
Course Options
Lessons
Lessons are held in small groups from Monday to Friday. You practice grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and auditory comprehension in systematically structured lessons. Emphasis is placed on language for use in real-life situations outside the school, communicative language games and working in groups and pairs.
Certificate Preparation Course OSD
Get ready to shine! At the ActiLingua Summer School, you can confidently prepare for the ÖSD Zertifikat B1 with our dedicated Certificate Preparation Course. For students 16 and older, we also offer expert guidance to help you ace the ÖSD Zertifikat B2.

Please note that a proficiency with the latin alphabet is required for our German courses, as we don’t offer alphabetization courses.
