A1 – German Present Perfect Tense 2

“Ich BIN gestern auf einer Party GEWESEN und HABE zu viel GETRUNKEN. Heute geht es mir nicht so gut.” [“I was at a party yesterday and drank too much. I’m not feeling that great today.”]

What went on yesterday is still being felt today – and if you want to talk about it, then you need the PERFECT tense. But how is it formed, and why do you say “BIN gewesen” [“have been”] but “HABE getrunken” [“have drunk”]? Listen to our teacher, and you’ll soon be up to speed!
